What a ride it was to be a part of this project! At the time, I was fighting Major Depressive Disorder. I pushed myself, beyond belief, to try a brand new form of art creation for me.
All I can say is I am filled with PRIDE.
Pride for- -Myself, for attempting something new during a period of great illness. -My publisher, Kim Eley, who created space for new comic creators, a rare occurrence in the art world. -David Patteson, my co-creator, husband, graphic memoirist, and cheerleader. -Lillie Patteson, my co-creator, daughter, first time comic creator, and 17 at the completion of the art creation phase. -Jakob Lepe, my co-creator, former student, and 17 years old at the completion of the art phase. -Nikolas Lepe, My co-creator, former student, and 15 years old at the time of art creation. -Henri Lamar, my co-creator, and the thrust of Kim’s inspiration.
